Pay Scale

L-7 (Rs.35,400 - 1,12,400) of MS(RP), 2019 per month plus other allowances

Qualification and Experience

• Master’s Degree in Manipuri with proficiency in English OR
• Master’s Degree in English/Linguistics with proficiency in the official language of the State
• Proficiency in the use of Computer
• Preference for candidates with translation experience

Age

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum:
  • 43 years (SC/ST)
  • 41 years (OBC)
  • 38 years (Others)

Mode of Examination

• Written Examination - 100 marks
• Computer Proficiency Test - 20 marks
• Viva Voce/Interview - 30 marks
• Total: 150 marks

Syllabus

Written Examination (100 marks)

• Translation from English to Manipuri - 50 marks
• General English & General Awareness - 40 marks
• Cut-off/Pass marks: 40 marks (aggregate)
• Duration: 150 minutes
• Top candidates (5:1 ratio of vacancies) shortlisted

Computer Proficiency Test (20 marks)

• Basic Computer Operations, MS Word, Internet Browsing, Emailing
• Cut-off/Pass marks: 10 marks
• Duration: 30 minutes

Viva Voce/Interview (30 marks)

• Only candidates who qualify the Computer Proficiency Test will be called

How to Apply

1. Go to “Apply here for the Post of Junior Grade Translator” on the official website of the High Court of Manipur: www.hcmimphal.nic.in
2. Click on “Login or Register” and then on “New User? Register Now” (Use a valid personal email ID for future communications).
3. After successful registration, a Registration Number will be sent to your registered email ID.
4. To apply, click on “Login or Register”, enter your Registration Number and Password, type the Captcha, and click on “Log in”.
5. After logging in, click on “Apply Now” for the desired post.
6. Fill in the required details in the online application form.
7. Upload scanned copies of your Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression, and other necessary documents (as mentioned in the "IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATE").
8. Make the online payment for the examination fees via UPI or Net Banking (No other payment methods accepted).

• Applications without payment of the examination fees will not be accepted.

Documents Required

The following original documents along with self-attested photocopies must be produced at the time of Viva-Voce/Interview:

1. Print-out of Admit Card
2. Master’s Degree Certificate (Manipuri/English/Linguistics)
3. Class X Certificate (as proof of Date of Birth)
4. Certificates of other Qualification(s), if any
5. Photo-bearing IDENTITY PROOF (as mentioned in Para No. 5 of the Important Instructions to Candidates)
6. Two (2) passport-sized photographs
7. SC/ST/OBC Certificate issued by a competent authority (for candidates seeking reservation)
8. No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued before the last date of online application submission (for candidates in Government Service)
